Is it time to redesign?

So ive had a blog running for a few days now over at blog.neillh.com.au, and i am really enjoying the layout of it.
Its fun, bright, lots of white space (oh my screen res is 1680x1050 so isee more white space than some may) and it has my fav colour green.
Now i do like my current site design here but after viewing this lighter brighter layout im starting to wonder is the dark scheme scaring some off? and is it still fresh?

Magento! What can i say? bloated, slow, not logical...
I spent hours designing a layout for this, and hours adding categories/products and i think the most time was spent trying to change the top navigation....
Dont get me wrong, it is some awesome software, but has been executed wrong. The design is split up into too many files and even more folders, you cant just add something in the cms and expect it to show up on your page, without also modding some php...
Magento Commerce

This week i have been playing with some new open source software called Magento Commerce. It is a new and more feature packed shopping cart. Alot nicer visually than popular carts like zencart and oscommerce.

So after 2 weeks of nonstop spam hitting my blog comments i have decided to remove them.
Everyday i would delete 100 or so spam posts to each blog entry and the few i missed for a couple of days got indexed on google so when someone types in something to do with adult content my site shows up, also with my lack of interesting blog entrys and no real people actually using them.

Website Redesign

To bring in the New Year i decided on a website redesign, the old one was a bit dated and behind in functionality.
This new site i feel works more, and with everything developed by me including this blog, no Wordpress here, i am still making some changes and adding to it everyday, shouldn't affect anyones visit.
